What is a probate valuation?
The term probate refers to the management of a person's assets after they have died. As property is often a person’s most valuable asset, a probate valuation will estimate the approximate open market value of the property. This valuation will need to be reported to HMRC by the executor of the will. The probate valuation must take place so any inheritance tax can be calculated before assets are given to or divided up amongst beneficiaries.
As experienced Independent Chartered Surveyors, our report will be accurate and easy to understand for anyone who needs to read it. As well as carrying out a valuation, we’ll also include any details about the property’s age, condition, and any recommendations for repairs. We have excellent local knowledge too, meaning we can easily compare the property we’re looking at with similar ones in the area.
A reputable valuations company
Undervaluing a probate property can cause penalties to be made by HMRC, not something you want to be dealing with at an already stressful time. As your local reputable property valuers in Callington, you can rely on us to ensure the valuation is fair and accurate.
